Captique® Injections

Captique was FDA-approved in December 2004 as a skin filler substance to fight wrinkles and creases in the quest for minimal-invasive rejuvenation of the face.

Captique is a non-animal based hyaluronic acid dermal filler agent that can also be successfully used for lip enhancement. Composed of the same active ingredient as Restylane and Hylaform, Captique is made of hyaluron, large sugar-like molecules that naturally occur in our skin and soft tissues.

Hyaluronic acid naturally fills the space between collagen fibers within the skin and it is able to attract and bind large quantities of water, necessary to maintain the youthful skin’s desirable qualities.

As injectable soft tissue filler, Captique is therefore able to reconstitute the patient’s skin volume that decreases during the normal aging process. Skin testing before the injection of Captique is not necessary.

Captique is a clear gel-like substance, which is injected in the desired location using a tiny needle by the plastic surgeon. Sometimes combining Captique with skin filler substances of slightly different characteristics allows Dr. Fechner to fine-tune the result for his patients.

Dr. Fechner performs the Captique injections in the office with virtually no downtime and it may last for up to 8 months depending on the patient’s metabolism and the specific region of the face treated.
