As the central focal point of a person’s face, the nose can draw a great deal of attention to itself when out of balance with the rest of the features. While in the past plastic surgeons tended to implement a cookie-cutter approach that Westernized each patient’s results, today, doctors understand the importance of customizing their procedures to help preserve and honor the client’s unique ethnic and cultural heritage.

Dr. Fechner in Boston and Worcester performs ethnic rhinoplasty for patients of many different backgrounds, refining the nasal tip, bridge, and nostrils while safekeeping idiosyncratic beauty.

What is ethnic rhinoplasty?

Nasal shape is influenced not only by your immediate family but also by your place of birth and its climate. Yet regardless of background, when a patient is unhappy with their appearance, it can compromise their self-confidence and quality of life.

Ethnic rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that celebrates cultural differences while still providing the patient with relief from their aesthetic concerns. For instance, it is possible to refine a dorsal hump without necessarily making the nose appear Caucasian. As such, ethnic rhinoplasty requires a great deal of nuance and artistry, and Dr. Fechner is up for the task. He will carefully craft a treatment plan that preserves your heritage and maximizes your innate beauty and attractiveness.

What are the benefits of ethnic rhinoplasty?

  • Harmonizes and balances the features
  • Reshapes and refines the nasal bridge, tip, and nostrils
  • Creates a more proportionate nose for your face
  • Improves breathing and structural integrity
  • Corrects asymmetry
  • Enhances self-image and self-confidence
  • Cultural and ethnic identity is preserved
  • Long-lasting, natural-looking outcome

Who makes an ideal candidate?

Dr. Fechner performs ethnic rhinoplasty for patients with ancestry from all over the globe, including Middle Eastern, Hispanic, African-American, and Asian clients. Anyone who is troubled by imperfections in the nasal bridge, the tip, or the nostrils can benefit from Dr. Fechner’s artistry and skill in rhinoplasty.

Clients undergoing surgery should be non-smokers who are emotionally and physically healthy and who are free from any significant medical concerns that might interfere with their treatment. Additionally, patients should have realistic expectations for their results based on a private consultation with Dr. Fechner at his offices located near Boston and Worcester.

What can I expect after my procedure?

After ethnic rhinoplasty, you’ll need someone to drive you home and provide care for about 24 hours. You’ll need to get plenty of rest after your surgery. Dr. Fechner will provide a full aftercare plan with instructions for showering, sleeping, eating and drinking, resuming exercise, returning to work, and many other important details. He will also ensure that you have the proper pain medications to facilitate a comfortable recovery.

Swelling can last for some time, so it’s important that you remain patient and optimistic when viewing your new nose. Over time, a refined and improved shape will emerge, boosting your self-confidence.

WHEN WILL FECHNER MD PLASTIC SURGERY & MEDICAL SPA OPEN?

Fechner MD will adhere to all local, state, and government mandates. We expect to cautiously resume medical spa and injectable treatments during Phase 2 of the Massachusetts phased reopening. We are awaiting a definitive date from Governor Baker. Cosmetic surgery is expected to resume during Phase 3 of Governor Baker’s plan. We ask for your patience and understanding as our staff is working diligently to reschedule all surgeries and procedures affected by our closure. Please understand that in order to open and adhere to Massachusetts guidelines, we will need to limit the number of staff and patients we have in our building and extend the time between patient appointments in order to sanitize rooms. This means we will have fewer available openings for procedures. In order to maximize our provider appointments, we will continue to hold consultations virtually rather than in person, with a few exceptions (body contouring, Instalift, vein treatments).
