Fresh, youthful, glowing skin is an undeniable asset. Unfortunately, a myriad of skin imperfections can result from sun damage, aging, acne and the build-up of dead cells, making the skin appear dull, wrinkled, spotty, discolored, or scarred.

Chemical peels are an effective, non-surgical solution to dramatically improve the appearance of the skin. Frank Fechner, M.D. performs chemical peels in Worcester and Boston to create smoother, tighter, fresher skin of the face, neck, hands, and décolletage. A medical-grade chemical peel must be selected carefully and correctly to produce a rejuvenated, evenly-toned facial skin, supple and fresh in appearance.

What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure in which a solution is applied to the skin capable to remove the dead or damaged upper layers. This treatment can refine the texture of the skin, improve skin tone, and safely reduce wrinkles.

What Skin Imperfections Can Be Treated with Chemical Peels?

Dr. Fechner is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon in Boston. He performs chemical peels to treat a range of cosmetic issues, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and acne scarring
  • Sun spots
  • Irregular pigmentation
  • arged pores
  • Freckles
  • Dry, scaly skin and rough patches
  • Dark skin pigmentations

Chemical peels serve as a sort of “reboot” for the skin. The damaged outer layer is removed, allowing the new, healthier, smoother skin underneath to appear.

Benefits of a Chemical Peel

In a chemical peel treatment in Worcester or Boston, Dr. Fechner applies a safe but effective solution to remove the damaged top layers, gently resurface the skin, and stimulate collagen production and cell renewal.

This treatment can:

  • Leave your skin looking smoother, fresher, and younger
  • Remove dead or damaged skin cells to improve skin quality and texture
  • Reduce the signs of sun damage
  • Smooth rough texture and discoloration
  • Improve acne and enlarged pores
  • Minimize the appearance of scars
  • Make the skin brighter and clearer, with increased collagen and new skin cell growth

Which Type of Chemical Peel Is Right for You?

There are several different types of chemical peels available, ranging from:

  • Mild “lunchtime” peels to refresh the face, neck, chest, and hands; to
  • Medium peels for treating age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, skin discoloration, and freckles; to
  • Deep peels, a one-time treatment for wrinkles, age spots, freckles, and scars to dramatically improve the appearance of the skin.

After a consultation and evaluation of your skin, Dr. Fechner and his team of expert skin care professionals will choose the correct level and type of chemical peel to rejuvenate and restore the quality of your facial skin.
